Thank you Windlesham Golf Club
Windlesham Golf Club – thank you!
Windlesham Golf Club chose to support Action for Carers as their charity of the year, focusing on the support of young carers, aged 5-17.
Club Captain, David Lewendon, kindly proposed young carers to benefit from the Club’s charitable activities over the year. And the Club organised a wide range of events to raise funds, including a special club day, a ‘longest day’ golf competition, dinner, raffles, sweepstakes and more.

Fantastic result
The partnership finished at the end of summer, and we were delighted to receive a cheque for an astonishing £18,400!

We are incredibly grateful to Windlesham Golf Club and David for choosing to support Action for Carers Surrey. The generosity and enthusiasm of the Club’s members will make a real difference to the challenging lives of these young people. This donation of £18,400 will go a long way in helping us provide vital support, respite, and opportunities for these remarkable young carers to thrive.

Young people in need
Many members of the Club took part over the year, keen to show their support of young carers in Surrey who are looking after a family member who is ill or disabled.
Being a young carer can impact young people’s life chances, but with the right support, young carers can thrive. We are delighted that we can use these funds to help more of these vulnerable young people.
In addition, the partnership also allowed more people to find out about the work of ACS overall, and our support for carers of all ages – from 5-95 – and we are thankful for that opportunity too.
A huge thank you once again to Windlesham Golf Club!
